Glad to be of help…

In the past couple years, I’ve supported communities, CEOs, Boards, organisations and leaders:

  • Dumfries & Galloway Council - Project Lead for community engagement on the Solway Coast And Marine Project (SCAMP), a £20 million, 10-15 year project to develop ‘natural capital’ and attract investment that will help restore marine and coastal habitats along the 200 mile coast from Loch Ryan to Gretna in South West Scotland. The 4 habitats we’re focussing on are oyster beds, saltmarsh, seagrass and coastal woodlands. All are highly valued locally, creating a unique and stunning natural environment and supporting life on the coast. These unique habitatsplay a key role in determining the area’s future. In 2025/15, a new Marine Research Centre in Stranraer will begin gathering data to grow our understanding of these fragile, threatened, depleted environments and help make decisions about how to take care of them for future generations. We are developing a team of Custodians - caretakers of their much loved coast - to lead change from the grassroots.

  • Stranraer Development Trust - as the Project Lead for Place Planning in the second largest town in Dumfries & Galloway - my home town. The mission was to unite 5 key community organisations and mobilise local citizens to develop a community-led Place Plan for Stranraer. I managed to engage a third of the 10,000 population to co-design a Plan for the next 10 years. This envisioned 4 quarters for the town: One Waterfront, Uptown cultural quarter, the town’s Enterprise Zone on two sites and Stanctuary - a 20 acre wild wellness site along the Black Stank burn. 6 priorities emerged, the top being addressing the long standing issue of the abandoned East Pier.

  • Eden Court, Inverness - with capital project strategic planning, user experience, stakeholder engagement, ethnographic research, economic impact analysis, catering consultancy, market research, business analysis.

  • Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity - recruiting a new role of Social Impact Manager: writing job description and job specification, preparing interview questions, interviewing, reaching out to my network to generate responses.

  • Tonic Arts, Edinburgh - user experience, stakeholder engagement, co-design workshops, ethnographic research (seeing how users interact on site).

  • Macrobert Arts Centre, Stirling - team engagement in planning, stakeholder engagement, user experience, business planning, coaching.

  • Springburn Winter Gardens Project, Glasgow Board development, values and priority setting.

  • Rothesay Pavilion, Bute - scoping Board development activity.

  • Aberdeen Performing Arts - digital strategy/web development project, team development, customer services review, Covid business recovery planning, food and beverage review, researching, planning and delivery of online festival.
