Humanist ceremonies - feel the difference.

I founded the Scottish charity, A Quiet Revolution to tackle funeral poverty and poverty of ceremony.

I trained and developed a network of 22 celebrants as a small, diverse family. Together we aim to help change the world… one act of human kindness at a time.

As a Humanist celebrant, I create and conduct ceremonies to mark important life milestones.

As a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, I love to honour, celebrate and amplify all things queer. It’s never been more important to stand up for diversity.

I bring a basket of professional skills, qualifications and experience to the party - service design, communication, event management, counselling and coaching skills.

I set up and grew A Quiet Revolution’s small network of celebrants, developing bespoke training that explores what it is to be human and why we perform rituals. This frees up celebrants to develop their own signature style and in turn, help those they support create unique ceremonies. To train with A Quiet Revolution, see our website.

I have significant experience around end of life … I hosted the first Death Cafes in Scotland and the nation’s first Day of the Dead Festival. My double award-winning Masters in Design Innovation from Glasgow School of Art focusses on 21st Century Funerals. I trained in Care of the Body, Funeral Arranging and I’m a qualified Funeral Director. As a celebrant, I facilitate private conversations among families to help explore their individual and collective needs around death, dying and funerals. This may be because someone is dying, because there are complex family relationships with different values and attitudes or just because folks want to plan for their end - and we never know when that’s coming.
