A Quiet Revolution is a Scottish charity, set up to tackle funeral poverty and poverty of ceremony. I am Founder of the charity and I’m an independent Celebrant, affiliated to it.

Whatever your circumstances, there’s no reason not to have a ceremony to say goodbye to someone who’s died. Our charity will help by covering the costs of a celebrant for families who need help.

More and more people choose an unattended cremation these days - which is fine if you don’t want to go to the crematorium. But if you’re choosing not to have a ceremony because of cost, we can help.

Right now, in the hardest of years for those who’ve lost someone and have had to do with little or no ceremony, the charity is offering funding for ceremonies.

Families can apply for funding to cover the cost of a celebrant. The charity will put folks in touch with a celebrant who will craft a beautiful ceremony - whether that’s at a burial ground, crematorium or in a venue. There will be no cost to the family or friends organising the send-off.

There’s a simple application process. See here on the charity’s website.

It’s a small charity, with a small fund to dish out, so funding is available on a first-come basis.

If you’re not in need yourself, you might like the idea of funding a ceremony for another family as an act of kindness. They can donate to the charity on its Givey page.

We can start talking now about the sort of send-off you’d like. Contact us.
