  2. The fees aren’t cheap but they are lower than other trainers. Will the course cover all I need?

No, it’s not cheap, but you can recoup the fees within the first few ceremonies you deliver. It’s cheaper than other trainers because it’s a bit like an intensive driving course - it’s short, focussed, intense and yes, it covers all you need to get going. In my own experience, the best learning is developing a personal practice. The courses are designed to give you the skills you need to get started and deliver a quality ceremony.

  3. Can I work as a celebrant once I’ve trained?

Yes, you’ll be equipped to deliver as a celebrant immediately. All the celebrants in our network are self-employed. Most do it as part of a ‘portfolio-working’ lifestyle… fitting it around work, child-care or other interests.

  4. I see other celebrants are affiliated to the Humanist charity, A Quiet Revolution. When I complete training, do I automatically become a member?

There’s a separate, simple application process if you’d like to join the charity and access the support of our celebrants network. (We appreciate some people want to do celebrant training to have the skills, but don’t want to practise as a Humanist.) If you’re not sure where you sit on the Humanist spectrum, do this quick quiz. If you’d like to talk more about whether this is the right fit for you, get in touch.

If you have any other questions about the training, please email. We can arrange a call if that’s easier.

(Your questions are appreciated - they’ll help build answers into the information on this page to save others having to ask the same thing.)
